I have read a book named "Bridget Jones's diary".
The genre is roman/comedy/romantic.
The author name is Helen Fielding.
Helen Fielding was born in Yorkshire 1953. She is most famous for her roman about Bridget Jones, but she has written other books for example: Histories of the thrill seeking journalist Olivia Joules. Helen also has worked for BBC for several years, producing documentaries.
I think this book is a perfect book for me because it was easy to read and had sufficient pages. Also it is a funny book, and I believe that that is important. I like this book!
I don't think it is interesting, maybe because I am not an adult. But it is joyful and amusing.
The book takes place in the 90th‘s in London. It is a book about Bridget Jones a girl in her thirties and her problems, both at work and her private life.
How do I explain Bridget Jones? Bridget is a young lady who tries to find her prince charming in a chaos of relationship problem. She also tries very hard to lose some weight and to stop drinking alcohol. She is never married and repulses men. She falls in love with wrong men. Sometimes it is like she is living the best life ever and sometimes she seems to get it all wrong.
Bridget Jones is a person who never learns of her mistakes. She is enormously honest and people think that that is good. Bridget likes to spend time with her best friends and has a good relation to her parents.
There are some intrigues between her lovers in the book, which makes difficulties.
Daniel Cleaver is one of these men. He works with Bridget, he actually is her boss. He starts flirting with Bridget by e-mail. I think that he is very smarmy and take advantage of his position over being her boss. He knows that he is good looking and have a good confidence, but lies to her.
I think Bridget seems to be a nice friendly woman, but she has her lacks. She always seems to get in to trouble. Mostly because she is clumsy and she says things before she thinks.
In the beginning of the book Bridget is depressed and has bad confidence. But in the end she finds love and confidence.
A scene I remember very well is when Bridget is going to a party. She has heard that the theme is to come as a prostitute or a priest. She arrives as a call-girl, dressed as a bunny. But when she gets there she founds out that the theme is cancelled. So she goes to the other two who also didn't get the message. One of them is her father dressed like a priest.
I think that Helen have written this book to amuse people. I read somewhere that she got the question if it is a story about her own life and the answer was no.
Compared to "Ingen väg tillbaka", that is a story about war and suffering, based on a true story. Bridget Jones could be a true story, but isn't. And ones again, it is funny and amusing book that makes you laugh instead.
Excellent job! ;)
